Designing with Technology: Contributors

Brian Adams (co-founder)

Brian Adams is a Specialist and Technical Director for the Michigan State University Department of Theatre. Primarily working in AutoCAD and Photoshop, Brian is very well versed in applications such as Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Encore, and Adobe GoLive as well as several programming languages (PHP, XML, PERL) and operating systems (Linux, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows Vista). An avid supporter of technological innovation in theatre arts as well as the classroom, he mentors students and faculty on integration of new technologies into their work and advocates the exploring of creative solutions to common problems using new technologies. Brian's focus on Opensource and Web 2.0 technologies encourages the development of new solutions without the restrictions imposed by software licensing costs while simultaneously supporting a development community with a steadfast focus on the end-user. He has most recently worked as the Technical Director and Sound Designer for the BoarsHead Theater and the Ohio Light Opera. Before coming to MSU, Brian has also worked for Lansing Community College, Plowshares Theatre Company, and Eastman Opera. Brian’s most recent technical direction and design credits include the world premiere of the operetta Pride and Prejudice, Music Man, Proof, The Gondoliers, Philadelphia, Here I Come! and The Exact Center Of The Universe.
